Chapter 4

I kept my head down and did not dare to meet Rosaline’s eyes.

I could already imagine she was glaring at me.

I kept quiet throughout the prize-giving session.

After the session was over, I immediately walked down from the stage.

At night, when I reached the massage center, I bumped into my boss.

“Matthew, follow me.”

His face looked grim.

My heart sank as I said, “Where are we going?”

I pretended to feel my way along the walls as if I were blind.

My boss snorted and said, “Stop pretending! I already know that you’re not blind!”

I trembled.

The day had finally come.

I knew Rosaline had told my boss about it. She must have been enraged after seeing me today.

I dropped my hands to my side as I looked at the boss. I waited for him to speak.

“Follow me.”

He led me to his office.

He sat on his chair and watched me closely. He said in amusement, “Matthew, you’re great at pretending to be blind. I’ve worked with so many blind people, but I didn’t even notice that you were faking it.”

I smiled awkwardly.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to lie to you, but you only hire blind masseurs here. I had no choice but to…”

I was about to explain myself when he gestured for me to stop.

He looked at me and said meaningfully, “Do you know why I only hire blind masseurs?”

I was stunned. I asked, “Isn’t this a blind massage center?”

He laughed.

“That is only a marketing strategy. The reason why I only want blind masseurs is that the VIPs who visit the top floor are very wealthy.

“Their identities must be kept secret at all times. They only feel at ease if the masseurs here are blind. Do you understand now?”

I nodded.

“Then, I…” I hung my head low as I prepared myself to be fired from my job.

To my surprise, he said patiently, “Matthew, my business has grown a lot after you’ve joined us. It doesn’t matter whether you were blind or not before. But from now on, you’re blind. Do you understand me?”

I looked at him in shock and immediately said in delight, “Don’t worry. From now on, I’m as blind as they come!”

I did not expect him to let me off the hook so easily.

“Alright. Now, get to work.”

He walked over to me and patted my shoulder.

I left his office.

A month passed.

I was slacking off at work when the old man from the annual dinner barged into the office angrily.

He kicked Rosaline’s door open.

Everyone in the company was shocked and rushed over to see what the commotion was about.

I followed suit and squeezed my way to the front.

“Rosaline Dunne! If it weren’t for me, would you have been the CEO of this company?

“How much money did I spend on you over the years? And now you dare to cheat on me?

“Tell me whose baby that is!”

The old man’s roars echoed from Rosaline’s office.

Everyone gasped in shock and whispered among themselves.

The beautiful CEO was cheating on her husband! Everyone was intrigued by such a juicy topic.

“Let’s talk about this at home,” Rosaline said calmly.

But the old man was not willing to let it go.

He opened the door to her office and yelled at the crowd, “Who wants to get her? Just go ahead!”
